The ultimate PR showcase

Since my previous post, it’s been non-stop here at Pegasus HQ. While I’ve got a minute to spare, I thought it would be a good time to share my newest experience with you – last week’s Holland & Barratt Showcase.

Standard product PR events aim to shout about a new product and introduce it to the media. The H&B showcase took the idea a few steps further, boldly launching 100 new products from around the globe.

We began the day at 4.30am, on location in London’s Kensington Roof Gardens. We braced the morning cold to unload towering boxes of products, before organising them into four themed ‘zones’ –  food, sports, beauty & VMS.

Once everything was in place, the event began to unfold with journalists keen to see the exciting new produce on offer. With a range of different experiences  to get involved with, there really wasn’t a dull moment. My personal highlight was Doom (aka Wayne Gordon from Sky1’s  Gladiators) who was on hand throughout the day to offer advice about bodybuilding and to give people a chance to try out the Yantra Mats.

If they had a little time to spare, media attendees were also offered a relaxation massage overlooking the Roof Gardens andthe opporutnity to have some nail art by the beauty teams’ nail technicians.

With 129 happy journalists leaving the showcase with a bag full of exciting products to write about, the event was considered another roaring success.  There is no denying it was a lot of work, but I had an absolutely brilliant time and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
