Only a day after winning their third test against India at Edgbaston and being crowned the best team in the world, we found ourselves brushing shoulders with three of England cricket team’s top players.
Fresh from their win, Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott and James Anderson took time out from their celebrations to get under the skin of sun damage on behalf of sk:n clinics. The star cricketers were helping promote an awareness campaign to encourage the nation to get serious about skin health and stress the importance of having regular assessments to check for sun damage, pigmentation or moles.
As well as going under the ultra violet ‘spotlight’, Cook and Anderson let their skin be prematurely aged and damaged to show the risks if you don’t ‘gear up’ (like Trott) and protect yourself from harmful rays.
All of the first class England and county cricket players will be given free skin health assessments by sk:n as part of the campaign.
